辣木 Moringa Oleifera,

Imageso today, I am going to introduce Moringa Oleifera, its origin from North India, and has vast amount of nutrients, almost all the essential amino acids you can found only in this plant! Amazing right? Thats why it also given its nickname known as Miracle trees.

As Moringa spread from India to other other tropical or subtropical areas, it adapt to local conditions, overtime, 13 species of Moringa has been developed.Image

Vitamin C fights for a host of illness, including cold and flu. Needless to say, Vitamin C also help in kills the free radicals in human body.This function known as antioxidant, and since Vitamin C is water soluble vitamin,(unlike Vitamin A, D,E,K is fat soluble), you need to replaced each day as its not store in our body.  you can picture that the more free radicals in your body, the higher tendency you will get cancer.

Free radical is an unstable molecules that seek to bond to other molecules to increase their stability.

In the field of chemistry there are tons of free radicals and free radical types. But since we only care about what goes on in the human body the most important types of free radicals are on the ones involving oxygen.

It makes sense to be mostly concerned with oxygen free radicals because oxygen is what gives human life (it’s in our water, air we breathe, food, blood, etc).

So the definition of free radicals, regarding the human body, are unstable oxygen molecules that can do damage to your cells, organs and body as a whole.Sources

Another function vitamin C influences is collagen synthesis. Collagen is the essential part of connective tissue. Connective tissue is needed to keep the body together, and is the very framework of the body – the skin, bones, teeth, blood vessels, cartilage, tendons and ligaments – all rely on collagen. Therefore, it is of acute precedence that there is a healthy amount of collagen in the body.

This is the function, that when depleted of collagen,scurvy occurs. Scurvy is the result of deterioration of the blood vessels. Furthermore, it results in hemorrhage, bleeding gums, bruising, loose teeth, and the tendency for bones to fracture.It is vital for the body to receive an optimal amount of vitamin C because the production of collagen is linked directly to vitamin C; therefore, if there is a lack of vitamin C, there is an absence of collagen, and the body will literally fall apart.

Potassium which is essential functioning of brain and nervous system.

So, if you are have protein deficiency, Moringa could be one of the most valuable food sources.

In a nutshell, Moringa really serve a nutritional rich food sources, I did search on other functions of Moringa, it also reported can prevent cancer, weight loss, but I don’t know how its exactly work out.
